Final Results From Canadian Seroprevalence Study

Profile of Canadians who have antibodies to SARS-CoV-2 infection or have been vaccinated.

Between November 2020 and March 2021, tens of thousands of Canadians ages 1 and up, in all 10 provinces and 3 territories, received a package from Statistics Canada containing a finger prick (dried blood spot or DBS) kit and a survey. It was a call to participate in the Canadian COVID‑19 Antibody and Health Survey, funded by the COVID‑19 Immunity Task Force.

Over 10,000 Canadians generously participated in the study from all walks of life – rural, urban, children, and adults of all ages.

Join us to get a more precise estimate of how many Canadians had antibodies to COVID‑19 without having been vaccinated (suggesting a previous infection) or after vaccination. We’ll talk about their overall profile: age, sex, visible minority status, and province or territory of residence.

Representatives from Statistics Canada and the COVID‑19 Immunity Task Force will give an overview and an analysis of the data, including through the CITF’s in-house modelling capabilities, to provide academics and policymakers with a clear and detailed reading of what they mean for the future of our pandemic response.
