Shadi Niakan

Shadi has more than 15 years of experience working in the health informatics industry with matrix-project teams. She has previously held multiple strategy and implementation positions at various Canadian hospitals, where she was responsible for managing operational readiness projects and various IM/IT and digital strategy initiatives. She led the relocation of more than 50 clinical and non-clinical departments in two weeks with CAMH, transferring 250 patients in one day during the COVID‑19 lockdown. Previously she spent almost a decade in the Iranian healthcare space in various roles from collaborating in the design of the nationwide and hospital-based cancer registry software to the development of commercial strategies.

She is also passionate about academic research and was part of a research team that performed a study to assess over 200 diabetes mobile apps and identified a roadmap of recommendations to outline a path forward for the future mHealth applications.

Shadi holds a Master of Health Informatics from the University of Toronto, and an MBA and Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering.
