Increased Use Of Birth Interventions In Response To COVID-19? Findings From A Canada-Wide Qualitative Study

The COVID‑19 pandemic has introduced new pressures and concerns for pregnancies and deliveries in Canada, as well as for the perinatal healthcare providers. Based on her in-depth qualitative interviews with women who have given birth during the pandemic and with perinatal care providers, Dr. Rice will also share the overall scaling back of perinatal care alongside the heavy use of interventions (e.g., induction of labour, cesarian section) in response to pandemic stresses and uncertainties.
