Alberta University of Alberta 2020 NSERC Alliance COVID-19 Grant

The goals of this partnership are to develop a quality assurance tool using artificial intelligence capable to assess the quality of ambient air quality data during COVID 19 response period, and determine the reduction of ambient air pollutant levels due to the reduced traffic and social activities during the lockdown period. The developed artificial intelligence tools will be deployed to assess the current COVID‑19 lockdown on the ambient air quality in Alberta at selected locations. The results and will be used by the project partners to improve the tools and the design of the assessments for future flu seasons. The partners will explore the application of the tools using ambient air quality data from other jurisdictions.
