The Ontario Modelling Consensus Table – An Overview of Methods and Current Projections​

Dr. Beate Sander is an internationally recognized leader in infectious disease economics with extensive expertise in health economics and simulation modelling. Dr. Sander holds a Canada Research Chair in Economics of Infectious Diseases and is principal investigator of several multidisciplinary projects funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) and other funders, including an evaluation of Zika virus and COVID‑19 interventions using computer simulation. She has developed novel approaches to evaluate intersectoral interventions and pioneered research on the burden of infectious diseases in Canada using linked population-based data. ​

Dr. Sander has received several awards for research excellence. She contributes substantively to federal/provincial policy decision-making, serving as an expert to national and international advisory bodies, including Canada’s National Advisory Committee on Immunization (NACI), where she also chairs the Economics Task Group and co-chairs the Economic Guidelines Task Group. Dr. Sander is the Faculty Co-Lead for the Health Technology Assessment emphasis at the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation, at the University of Toronto.
