Canadian Paramedicine Response to COVID-19: Challenges and innovations
This project will gather, organize, analyze and rapidly disseminate information crucial to Canadian
paramedicine’s successful response to the COVID‑19 pandemic. Researchers will interview and survey key
informants in Canadian emergency medical services (EMS) to gather data on challenges, innovations, barriers,
and solutions for adapting practice to the specific threats of COVID-19. In addition, researchers will collect and
share key resources such as modified protocols, standards, and policies. Analysis will focus on developing
lessons-learned, identifying ongoing challenges and disseminating evolving strategies and practices. The
project will employ prioritize rapid dissemination, using online resource repositories, webinars, and
communication/collaboration activities (e.g., webcast series) to share emerging findings with stakeholders from
Canadian prehospital emergency care.
